The DIY Bride: Do This, Not That

Many of you Pinterest obsessed Brides-to-be may have planned out how to make your upcoming wedding an entirely "Do it Yourself" project. A word of advice, in order to save some money on your wedding day, there are some things that a crafty lady and her friends can successfully DIY, however there are some things that should ALWAYS be left to the professionals. Follow these DIY do's and don'ts and your special day will be unique and crafty without causing any unnecessary mental breakdowns.

Flowers:

Don't Do It! You may have seen pictures of a rustic country wedding that used mason jars and wildflowers or baby's breath to make inexpensive centerpieces and bouquets. Don't be fooled! This may seem like an easy way to save some money on your special day, but making your flowers a DIY project will cause you undue stress on your wedding day. Flowers have to be bought or delivered the day of the wedding, sometimes only hours before the wedding so that they look optimal. This means that you (or your bridesmaids and friends) will be scrambling to assemble centerpieces, arrange bouquets, wire flowers and soak floral foam when you should be relaxing and getting yourself ready for the ceremony. You may say "Well I only want somehting simple." Good news! Your local florist can do everything from simple to extravegant and they are used to working on a budget. Florists also have access to all kinds of flowers, including the baby's breath and wildflowers that you like. The difference is that they will do all the work, and deliver them in perfect condition on your wedding day so that you don't have to stress.
