Ever wonder why the wedding ring?
From my research I discovered that it likely started back in Egyptian time. When rings were made of reeds and grasses. As time passed it was change to more durable items as leather, ivory and bone.
The ring represented a eternal bond of love that the giver was showing to the receiver. Much later the rings became more ornate and the more precious the metal the more love was being symbolized.
In Roman times the ring was placed on the 4th finger because it was believed that the vein in that finger was connected to the heart. It was referred to as the "Vena Amoris" or the 'Vein of Love".
The ring being a circle symbolizes eternity with no beginning no end.
